Chats @ Charli's Blog # 2 Hi Folks, Our main topic this week was, “Are Rituals
Beneficial?” We first needed to identify
the kinds of rituals are current in our lives.
For example one of our participants takes a daily walk during which time
it becomes a form of meditation and quiet time with Spirit. For those that come from Christian
backgrounds and belief systems, Christmas and Easter are rituals. Christenings and even funerals would be
considered to be rituals. The purpose then for example with a funeral, the
ritual would be considered one of acknowledgement for the loss, saying goodbye
and one of closure perhaps. In the case of Christmas and maybe even birthdays in
which we blow out candles and sing happy birthday, we are creating
memories. People are gathering and there
is a focus on an event made special by the ritual. If we were to create a daily or weekly Spiritual
Ritual, it could serve the purpose of giving us a focus and a time that is put
aside from, the sometimes pointless, “busy-ness” of our lives. This time could be a valuable time spent with
Self. Perhaps you could run a bath,
light some candles and play some special music, anything that helps you create
a space that separates you from the way you would normally be spending your
time. It could be time spent reflecting
on what it is our Higher Self wants us to know, or a time to reflect on things
we want to change, or let go of. This
might be time we spend with someone special in which we answer the question,
“what is it you would like me to know about you at this time? Is there anything I have missed?” Either way I see it as a gift we could be
giving ourselves in what is normally a busy world. A wonderful topic was raised..... anxiety or intuition ... to know the
difference. What came to me as soon as I
read this topic was that the word anxiety came with fear, and I do know that
when information comes from Spirit it will not come with fear. So perhaps, in saying that, we could conclude
that perhaps when we feel anxious we can know that we are not aligned with
Spirit. Intuition, I believe is Spirit
talking to us, and it always comes with Love.
There are times in which we have unpleasant feelings,
for me it can be when I pop into a TAB to place a little bet on the Melbourne
Cup. I don’t like being in places like
that... and never get a good feeling.
Instead of this being regarded as intuition, I would call it reading the
energy. It’s the energy I’m responding
to and not enjoying. We spoke of the “observer”. The
observer is that part of us that recognises anxiety and is able to speak of
it. Or in my case, that part of me that
is able to identify that I am not feeling comfortable being in a TAB. So the, “observer” informs me that I am
uncomfortable. Thank you to those that braved the cold weather and
joined me, I appreciated your willingness to be part of this journey. Thank you also for the donations made, I am grateful. TOPIC FOR NEXT WEEK:
